Friends of Balls Park
enhance – preserve – protect – enjoy
Welcome to Balls Park
The Friends of Balls Park is a local community group established in 2014, dedicated to the sustained conservation, enhancement and protection of Balls Park for the benefit of the residents. Balls Park has a fascinating history dating from circa 1640 during the reign of Charles 1, when, Sir John Harrison a financier and customs official constructed the Grade 1 listed Mansion House on the site of the Hertford Priory. Since then many changes have taken place. In its current incarnation, Balls Park is a blend of old and new residential properties in a historic parkland setting of 63 acres. Several significant archaeological and historical assets survive to this day. The many ancient and veteran trees, part of our cultural heritage, host a rich and diverse range of habitats, where wildlife flourishes. To preserve this oasis of peace and tranquillity is paramount. By becoming a Friend of Balls Park you can make a meaningful and welcome contribution to a quintessentially English country estate.
